  • Page 8 Als Berechnungshilfe für Stromkabel, die nicht länger als 5 m sind, gilt maximal 5 A pro mm². Wir empfehlen für den Ver- stärker BRAX MX4 PRO einen Mindestquerschnitt von 35 mm² für die Plus 12 Volt-Versorgungsleitung und für das Masse- kabel.
  • Page 9 Anschluss +12 V Versorgungskabel Das +12 V Versorgungskabel ist am Pluspol der Batterie anzuschließen. Empfohlener Querschnitt: mindestens 35 mm². 4 - 5 Anschlüsse BRAX Power Stabilizer Diese Eingänge dienen zum direkten Anschluss eines BRAX Power Stabilizers an die Leistungstransistoren der MX4 PRO. Durch den Anschluss eines BRAX Power Stabilizers werden Belastungsspitzen im Bereich Stromversorgung ausgegli- chen.
  • Page 10 Digitaleingängen A / B bzw. C / D jeweils ein identisches Signal anliegt. Impedanzeinstellungstaster Der BRAX MX4 PRO Verstärker hat eine impedanzunabhängige Leistungsabgabe. Über den Impedanzeinstellungs- taster (10) muss nach Anschluss des Lautsprechersystems die entsprechende Impedanz (4 Ohm, 2 Ohm oder 1 Ohm) eingestellt werden.
  • Page 11 Anpassung. Die Einstellung der Regler beeinflusst nicht die Digitaleingänge. Der Regelbereich reicht von 1,0 V bis 8,0 V. RCA / Cinch-Signaleingänge Der Verstärker BRAX MX4 PRO hat RCA-Anschlüsse zum Kontaktieren von Cinchkabeln, die mit den Vorverstärker- ausgängen bzw. Line-Outputs des Steuergerätes oder eines Vorverstärkers verbunden werden. Diese Anschlüsse sind vergoldet, um eine bessere NF-Übertragung zu gewährleisten.
  • Page 12 Digitale Signaleingänge im SPDIF-Format Der Verstärker BRAX MX4 PRO verfügt über zwei optische und zwei elektrische Signaleingänge im SPDIF-Format für den Anschluss von digitalen Signalquellen. Die Abtastrate („Sampling Rate“) dieser Eingänge muss zwischen 32 - 192 kHz (32 - 96 kHz für den optischen Eingang) liegen. Der Verstärker ist so konfiguriert, dass automatisch vom analogen Cinch- Eingang auf den Digitaleingang des jeweiligen Kanalpaares umgeschaltet wird, sobald ein Digitalsignal erkannt wird.
  • Page 13 DiSAC (Digital Signal Analog Controlled) Lautstärkeregelung in Verbindung mit dem BRAX DSP In einer Car-Hifi-Anlage gibt es typischerweise zwei verschiedene Möglichkeiten zur Einstellung der Lautstärke. a) Die Lautstärke wird in der Signalquelle (z.B. dem Autoradio) geregelt: Diese Methode wird am häufigsten angewendet, hat jedoch den Nachteil, dass bei Ansteuerung eines digitalen Signalpro- zessors (DSP) in der Signalkette dessen volle Signalauflösung nur dann genutzt wird, wenn an der Quelle die Lautstärke auf Maximum eingestellt ist.

    General instructions: Installation of BRAX amplifiers To find out how the BRAX MX4 PRO works best for you, read this manual carefully and follow the instructions for installa- tion. We guarantee that this product has been checked for proper operation prior shipment. Before starting your installation, disconnect the battery’s negative terminal to prevent damage to the unit, fire and / or risk of injury.

  • Page 24 Loudspeaker terminals These terminals are for connecting the speaker cables. Never connect the loudspeaker cables with the car chassis ground. This may damage your amplifier and your speakers. All loudspeakers must be connected in-phase, this means plus to plus and minus to minus. Inverting plus and minus will result in a total loss of bass response. The positive terminal is marked on most speakers.
  • Page 25 Impedance selector The output power of the amplifier BRAX MX4 PRO is independent from speaker impedance. By using the impedance selector (10) the impedance of the connected loudspeaker system (4 Ohms, 2 Ohms or 1 Ohm) has to be selected accord- ingly.
  • Page 26 Digital signal input in SPDIF format The BRAX MX4 PRO offers two optical and two coaxial signal inputs in SPDIF format for the direct connection of digital sources. The sampling rate must be in the range of 32 kHz to 192 kHz (32 - 96 kHz for optical input). The amplifier auto- matically switches from the analog RCA input to the digital input of the respective channel pair as it detects a digital data stream.
