The burner on an Ole Hickory Pits SSG could shut off and not relight due to the upper limit switch being triggered. This happens if the temperature inside the cooking chamber exceeds 350°F. The burner will not fire again until the upper limit button, located under the service access panel, is manually reset. Other possible causes include:

1. Improper flue installation.
2. Inadequate makeup air or competing ventilation systems.
3. Extreme drafts or inadequate clearance affecting burner air flow.
4. Electrical issues, such as non-grounded cords or power switches not in the correct position.

Positive air flow through the burner air shutter must also be maintained for safe operation.
