Shooting techniques
• Use [Single-shot AF] when the subject is motionless.
• Use [Continuous AF] when the subject is in motion.
Notes
• [Automatic AF] is selected when the exposure mode is set to AUTO, AUTO+ or one
of the following Scene Selection modes: [Portrait], [Landscape], [Sunset], [Night
Scene], [Night Portrait], or [Hand-held Twilight].
• [Single-shot AF] is selected when the exposure mode is set to Sweep Panorama, 3D
Sweep Panorama or [Macro] in Scene Selection.
• [Continuous AF] is selected when the exposure mode is set to [Sports Action] in
Scene Selection or when the Smile Shutter function is used.

the shutter button halfway down.
