Function
Normal production sequence
The QV II Quench Valve (D) is open to the full
pipe diameter with no pressure drop across the
valve.
QV II Quench Valve, REMBE
®
and Q-Rohr
(B) ensure secondary protection
in the event of a dust explosion without
interrupting any production sequence.
During explosion
Vessel (A) is vented via the explosion venting

action of the REMBE
flame suppression with the Q-Rohr
the majority of the pressure wave and flame
front developed during the explosion is
reduced.
The explosion venting Q-Rohr
disc within the system immediately sends a
®MINI
signal to the EXKOP
which immediately initiates closure of the QV
Quench Valve (D).
During closure, a build-up of product occurs in
front of the QV II Quench Valve (D). This
causes a displacement of oxygen, so that the
dust-air concentration is moved out of the
explosive range and ignition capability is
reduced.
The explosion is completely isolated by the
closure of the QV II Quench Valve.
