6.4 Calcmet Lite User's Guide and Reference Manual
6.4.1
Calcmet Lite Application Installation
When the application is created in Calcmet, the next step is to copy the application
(.LIB) and the reference spectra (.SPE) using ActiveSync USB to a folder on the PDA
storage card. Before doing so, use a notepad-type text editor to change the paths of
reference spectra in the application (.LIB) file to correspond to the folder on the storage
card where the application is stored. If the path is correct, no error message is
displayed when the transferred application is selected in Calcmet Lite from File →
Select application.
Please, refer to Microsoft ActiveSync
how to access PDA memory via ActiveSync.

PDA Configuration

Setting up the PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) is normally not required at the start-up,
as it has been set up in Gasmet Technologies Oy.
Calcmet Lite software is installed on the PDA. Calcmet Lite starts up the DX4040 via
Bluetooth (if the Bluetooth connection is used), measures background, and stores it on
the storage card of the PDA, measures spectrum files, and displays analysis results.
Calcmet Lite requires an initialization file in order to keep the user settings in memory.
This file is CALCMETLITE.INI.
6.4.3

CALCMETLITE.INI File

CALCMETLITE.INI
Files\CalcmetLite\. This file includes the definition of the Device ID of the DX4040, its
Bluetooth address, the COM Port that Calcmet Lite will use, the Baud Speed, the
location of the different recorded files to be stored on the PDA, the minimal and
maximal signal limits for the background, the timer defining the Bluetooth
communications timeout.
In order to modify CALCMETLITE.INI, copy the file from the PDA (\Program
Files\CalcmetLite\ directory) to the desktop using ActiveSync. Open the file using a
simple text editor like Notepad.
