    Notes: The torques are at steady state speeds. No allowance has been made for load inertia. For high inertia loads contact Armstrong. Maximum allowable accelerations and decelerations are load dependent. Use the configuration software supplied with the G1 actuators to set the actuator torque, speed, and accelerations.

    The loose end of the cable can be wired to a binary switching device such as a flow switch, flow sens , level switch, manual switch or used with a PLC. Switching will enable various features of the Emech G1 actuator such as BIGAIN, STANDBY, HOLD, and INVERSE ACTUATOR OPERATION.

    To start Armstrong EmechConfig, select it from the Start menu, or from the desktop shortcut. To establish a connection with the actuator, it is necessary to tell EmechConfig which COM port to use. This is selected from the COMS menu (shown in Figure 5.1).

    5.2.2 General Use The Armstrong EmechConfig interface consists of several tabs containing a variety of controls. The most important for configuration of the actuator is the Device Manager tab. This section provides access to information about the actuator, and allows the user to modify some of the permanent settings.
