    • High Availability (HA) support Note that there are two versions of the IB-4030: Rev-1 and Rev-2. Both versions support the same NIOS features. They are different in physical appearances and CPU speeds. This guide only contains information about the Infoblox-4030 Rev-1 appliance.

    Introduction Rear Panel The IB-4030 Rev-1 appliance offers a choice of dual AC/DC power supplies. In all cases, power supplies are hot-swappable; any single power supply can be replaced without disrupting the operations of the appliance. The IB-4030 Rev-1 also provides four (4) active RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces that operate as Infoblox MGMT port, LAN1 port, and LAN2 port in the Infoblox appliance.

    The Infoblox-4030 Rev-1 draws air in through the front of the chassis and expels air through the rear. Adequate ventilation is required to allow ambient room air to enter the system chassis and to be expelled from the rear of the chassis.

    To change these settings to suit your network, use the console port. Console Port The Infoblox appliance has a male DB-9 console port on the rear panel. You can log in to the appliance through this port and specify initial network settings using the Infoblox CLI.

    Configuring and Activating the Appliance Infoblox GUI You can view data and configuration settings and make configuration changes through the Infoblox GUI. When an Infoblox appliance functions as an independent appliance, you launch System Manager to access the Infoblox GUI.

    The Infoblox CLI allows you to configure and monitor the appliance using a small set of Infoblox commands. Some tasks, such as resetting the appliance, can only be done through the CLI.     Managing the Disk Subsystem The IB-4030 uses a RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) 10 array to provide the optimum mix of high database performance and redundant data storage with recovery features in the event of disk failures. The disk array is completely self managed.
