Starting recording quickly
(QUICK ON)
If you press the QUICK ON button, instead
of turning off the power, the camcorder
becomes power saving status (Sleep mode).
While the Sleep mode is set, the QUICK
ON button is flashed. To resume the next
recording, press the QUICK ON button
again. Your camcorder will be ready for
recording after about 1 second.
z Tips
• While the Sleep mode is set, the power
consumption of the camcorder is reduced by
about a half when it is compared during
recording, and the battery power can be saved.
• When no operation is performed in the Sleep
mode, the power is turned off automatically.
You can set the desired turn off time of the
camcorder with [QUICK ON STBY] (p. 95),
when the camcorder is set to the Sleep mode.
Recording high quality still
images during movie recording
(Dual Rec)
You can record high quality still images by
pressing PHOTO while recording a movie.
The still images are recorded on the media
set on [PHOTO MEDIA SET] (HDR-
UX19E/UX20E) (p. 27).
b Notes
• You cannot use the flash during Dual Rec.
• When the capacity of the media becomes
insufficient, or when a series of still images are
recorded,
may be displayed. You cannot
record still images while
is displayed.
z Tips
• When the
(Movie) lamp is lit, the size of
still images becomes [
[2.2M] (4:3).
• You can record still images during recording
standby in the same way as when the
lamp is lit. You can also record with the flash.
Recording in dark places
(NightShot)
Infrared port
You can record images in dark places to set
the NIGHTSHOT switch to ON. (
appears.)
b Notes
• The NightShot and Super NightShot functions
use infrared light. Therefore, do not cover the
infrared port with your fingers or other objects.
• Remove the conversion lens (optional).
• Adjust the focus manually ([FOCUS], p. 98)
when it is hard to focus automatically.
• Do not use the NightShot and Super NightShot
functions in bright places. This may cause a
malfunction.
z Tips
• To record an image brighter, use Super
NightShot function (p. 101). To record an image
more faithfully to the original colors, use Color
Slow Shutter function (p. 101).
