The extension of a file is not displayed on your computer.
• To display the extension, follow the steps below:
1Click [Tool] in the window folder t [Folder option...] t [View] tab.
2Remove the check mark from the [Hide file extensions for known file types] under
Advanced Settings.
3Click [OK].
If you press the DISC BURN button on your camcorder, the software on the
computer does not run.
• Install Picture Motion Browser (p. 91).
• Start [Media Check Tool] up on the computer. (See "First Step Guide" on the supplied CD-
ROM for details.)
While performing Easy PC Back-up, [Not enough space on destination hard
disk.] is displayed on the computer screen.
• Delete unnecessary files from your computer to free hard disk space.
Cannot write from your computer to the hard disk of your camcorder.
• You cannot write to the hard disk of your camcorder from software other than Picture Motion
Browser.
• You cannot write movies with SD (standard definition) image quality and still images to the
hard disk of your camcorder.
The file transferred from the computer is not written to the "Memory Stick Duo"
in your camcorder.
• The USB cable (supplied) was not removed with the right procedure. Connect your
camcorder to the computer again and transfer the data.
The playback screen is paused or distorted on a computer.
• Check the computer environment required to play movies (p. 89).
• Close all application except "Player for AVCHD" on a computer.
The disc you created cannot be played back.
• Use the supplied "Player for AVCHD" software to play a disc you created on a computer, by
recording images with HD (high definition) image quality transferred from your camcorder to
the computer. A standard disc player cannot be used. If other disc player software starts up
when a disc recorded with HD (high definition) image quality is inserted in the computer,
close that software.

"First Step Guide."
