E. Hydrostatic Test:
The Preaction System, including S�rinkler Pi�ing and S�rinklers shall be hydrostatically tested at 200 PSI (13.8 bar) and maintained
�or 2 hours, in accordance with NFPA 13. Systems normally subjected to working system �ressures in excess o� 150 PSI (10.3 bar)
shall be tested at a �ressure o� 50 PSI (3.45 bar) in excess o� system working �ressure.
F. Placing the Valve in service: (Re�er to Figure 5)
When the Preaction System is ready to be �laced in service, veri�y that the electric release system has been reset and in normal condition.
1. �eri�y that the control valve connected to the G-2000P �alve is closed.
2. �eri�y required air �ressure is established on the �i�ing system.
3. O�en the �rime vlave, emergency release valve, and �low test valve.
4. Slowly o�en the water su��ly main control valve. Wait until water exits the emergency release valve, and then CLOSE the
emergency release valve.
5. Close the �rime valve and observe the �rime �ressure gauge �or at least 15 seconds. I� the gauge �ressure dro�s, check the
�rime line and dri� check-make sure the leak is �ixed be�ore �roceeding to the next ste�s. Finally, RE-OPEN the �riming valve
and veri�y required �rime �ressure has been established.
6. Slowly o�en the control valve connected to the G-2000P �alve.
7. When water exits the �low test valve, CLOSE the �low test valve.
8. Then �ully o�en the control valve connected to the G-2000P �alve.
9. �eri�y that no water �lows �rom the dri� check when the �lunger is �ushed.
10. Make sure all valves on the trim are in their normal o�erating �ositions.
11. Reset the release control �anel to clear any su�ervisory alarms.
12. Noti�y Authorities Having Jurisdiction and those in the a��ected area that the system is in service.
13. The system is now �ully o�erational.
NoTE: If the system has operated or if water has entered the system, allow enough time to drain all water from the pip-
ing system before following the above steps.
G. operational Test:
An o�erational test shall be �er�ormed on the system in accordance with NFPA 13. Re�er to Section 6 �or Ins�ection and O�eration
Test Procedures.
