OPERATION MANUAL 1 About this manual This document is the original operation manual for the Hydraulic Power Unit G-18-S10-58-W of PortaCo Inc., 1805 2nd Ave N, Moorhead, MN 56560. The Hydraulic Power Unit is a portable hydraulic unit for powering hydraulic tools. -

2.1 General information Hydraulic tools can be powered with PortaCo Inc.´s Hydraulic Power Unit. The hydraulic unit is powered by a combustion engine and is thus portable. The Hydraulic Power Unit is equipped with two wheels and a transport handle for safe transport. -
Page 9: Designated Use
2.2 Designated use Hydraulic tools can be powered by the PortaCo Inc. Hydraulic Power Unit. Hydraulic power units may only be used with tools which allow for return flow of the hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic unit. The tools must be equipped with a pressure limiter which also allows for return of the hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic unit. -

Nevertheless, knowledge of the residual risks as well as general knowledge of the device are required to ensure safe and accident-free work. -

Only use the device within the prescribed limits. The device must be maintained at regular intervals, the intervals are specified by the operator's risk assessment. In the event of leaks switch the device to a safe state.

Page 18: Transport, Assembly And Dismantling
HYDRAULIC POWER UNIT G-18S10-54-W OPERATION MANUAL 5 Transport, assembly and dismantling The machine must be disconnected from the hydraulic tools for transport. The hydraulic unit must be switched off and depressurized for this purpose. Then the couplings on the hydraulic hoses can be detached. Allow the hydraulic unit to cool before transport. -

The components of the machine are subject to different maintenance intervals depending on the use. The maintenance intervals must be determined by the system operator as part of the hazard evaluation and risk assessment. -

HYDRAULIC POWER UNIT G-18S10-54-W OPERATION MANUAL 7.4 Change/Refill of engine oil The motor oil must be replaced quarterly. Depending on frequency of use and contamination of the motor oil, replacement may be necessary at shorter intervals. 1. Place a drip tray under the drain plug. The tray must hold at least 2 liters / 0.5 US gal to collect all the motor oil. -

HYDRAULIC POWER UNIT G-18S10-54-W OPERATION MANUAL 7.5 Change/Refill of hydraulic fluid The hydraulic fluid must be replaced annually. Depending on usage and contamination, the hydraulic fluid may need to be replaced at shorter intervals. 1. Place a drip tray under the drain plug. The tray must hold at least 20 liters / 5.3 US gal so that all the hydraulic fluid can be drained off. -

Repairs to the machine may only be carried out by the PortaCo Inc. or personnel who have been specially instructed. Additionally, work on electrical system parts may only be made by electrical specialists. -
Page 28: Shutdown And Re-Commissioning
HYDRAULIC POWER UNIT G-18S10-54-W OPERATION MANUAL Shutdown and re-commissioning The machine can be shut down for a usual maintenance period without any additional risks. No special maintenance or conservation work is necessary. After a shutdown, a visual inspection must be carried out before a restart.
