6.1

Controls

During the operating phase the flail hedge
mower control console (Fig. 27) must be
ergonomically positioned in relation to the
driver's seat in the cab and must be secured
to a support forming an integral part of the
tractor to ensure easy manoeuvrability.
6.1.1 In flail hedge mowers with electro-hydraulic
controls the console houses all the various
movement
assembly it is vitally important to observe the
polarity and supply voltage which must be
12 V – 40 A.
6.2
Description of the controls (Fig. 28)
- button A – opens and closes the
electrical supply circuit to the controls
- selector B – controls the engagement
and direction of rotation of the flail
holder shaft. The direction of rotation of
the flail holder shaft may be changed
with the rotor at standstill or at least
with the rotor running at minimum
speed.
IMPORTANT:
DIRECTION OF ROTATION AT HIGH
SPEED MAY CAUSE BREAKAGE OF
THE HYDRAULIC MOTOR OR OF
THE TRANSMISSION MEMBERS.
- Button C – engages the float system head control. The float system allows the
flail head to autonomously follow the depressions of the ground, without being
adjusted by the operator
- STOP button – this must only be pressed in an EMERGENCY. It instantly blocks
all the controls thus preventing accidental manoeuvres.
- Button D – engages or disengages the accumulator controlling the hydraulic
suspension of the arms. This enables the arms to adapt to uneven terrain without
