The Mini300plus Print Server is a compact Fast Ethernet print server which fully supports IEEE802.3 10BASE-T and IEEE802.3u standards 100BASE- TX. Smart Print Manager 3 This utility is used to configure various parameters of the Mini300plus. The utility is not required if there is only one user (and thus a PC client). On the other hand, network administrators are encouraged to install this component on their PCs to effectively manage print jobs on their networks and the print server itself.

SNMP Communities Displays all the SNMP communities that have been configured on the print server. There are two communities for which messages from the print server can be controlled.

Mini300plus Setup Menu The setup menu allows the user (preferably administrator) to modify various parameters of the print server including those related to the system, printer, NetWare, TCP/IP, SNMP and AppleTalk. Mini300plus HP Web JetAdmin The Mini300plus supports HP Web JetAdmin. This utility allows the user to remotely monitor and manage printers attached to networked print servers via a standard web browser. HP Web JetAdmin supports Windows NT/2000, HP-UX, Solaris, RedHat Linux, SuSE Linux.

Mini300plus DHCP Client The Mini300plus can function as a DHCP client which automatically adjusts its IP address and TCP/IP settings in accordance with the IP and other information provided by a DHCP server. To enable the IPP and other network functions of the print server, however, it is recommended to assign a fixed IP address to the print server.

Q.Which printers are not supported by the print server? A. Printers that require "bi-directional parallel port service" (those designed for Windows Printing System, etc.) are not supported. The print server cannot send signals from printers back to the network. For this reason, when the print server is attached to a printer with bi-directional support, its drivers behave as if no printer is attached to the PC.

Before proceeding, access our web site and download the latest firmware for the Mini300plus. The downloaded file should be renamed to “mps11.bin”. Note: Verify that the binary file required to upgrade the Mini300plus firmware has been renamed to “mps11.bin”. Before upgrading the firmware, make sure that the Mini300plus holds no print job.
