Important safety information
Using your PC card while in the air is prohibited. Remove your PC card from the PC
card slot before boarding an aircraft. The use of PC cards in an aircraft may be
dangerous to the operation of the aircraft, disrupt the wireless telephone network
and may be illegal.
Failure to observe these instructions may lead to suspension or denial of
telephone services to the offender, or legal action or both.
Antenna
The Nokia D311 PC card has a built-in antenna. As with any other radio-
transmitting device, avoid touching the antenna while the PC card is on. Contact
with the antenna affects connection quality and may cause the PC card to operate
at a higher power level than necessary.
FCC Notice: This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is
subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful
interference and (2) this device must accept any interference received including
interference that may cause undesired operation.
This PC card has been tested and meets FCC RF exposure guidelines when used in
a position that keeps the antenna at least 3/4 inch (1.9cm) from your body when
the PC card is switched on. When used with a laptop computer on your lap, the
snap-on spacer can be used to provide the required 3/4 inch (1.9cm) distance.

Slide the snap-on spacer on the PC card in the direction of arrow 1. Then insert the
PC card into the PC card slot of the computer.
