The engine of a Morrison BC 430 could stop running after 15 to 20 hours of use due to wear or damage to parts such as the nylon cutting head, or improper use like running the engine with excessive drag from wide swathes or worn-out nylon cord. To prevent engine slowdown, use proper cutting techniques and maintain engine speed.
If the pull cord is locked, a possible cause is damage or blockage in the cutting head or drive shaft. To fix it:
1. Stop the engine and ensure it is off. 2. Inspect the nylon cutting head for damage or debris. 3. Check for obstructions or tangled line. 4. Do not use a broken or unbalanced cutting head. 5. If needed, remove the cutting head and inspect the drive shaft.
If the problem persists, the unit may need servicing.
