Intended use The eyevis devices with LED projection engine is intended for visually replaying contents for industrial use. • Only operate the product in a Authorised installation position.

Use a special vibration absorbing basement from eyevis when using the devices in locations subject to vibration. ► Do not place the device in an unstable location such as e.g. inappropriate raised floors or inclines.

    The easy-handling concept with projection units in innovative single-module design with integrated and motorized geometry adjustment enables a quick and easy setup. Like all eyevis cubes the new slim model is equipped with a robust self-supporting housing and the reliable „seamless“ screen bracket with discrete screen clamp technology to install big video walls with smallest bezels between adjacent displays.

    EC-LED-SLIM Series Transport, storage, unpacking Unpacking The cube is packaged in a cardboard box. To protect the cube during transportation, the cube is wrapped in foam. The packaging is secured with packing tape. CAUTION Heavy weight and large dimensions of cube Do not attempt to unpack the cube by yourself.

    EC-LED-SLIM Series Status LED Power state The power state LED indicates whether power circuit on the board is “online”, that means whether the CPU is powered by 5V standby voltage. Signal state The signal state LED indicates the status of the video signal. If the video signal is connected and valid, the LED lights up green.

    EC-LED-SLIM Series Assembly / Installation This section describes how to install the cube wall. This includes assembling the basements, setting up the cubes and inserting the screens. NOTICE Before mounting the cube housing the projector must be taken out. Preparation before mounting The projector engine is mounted in the cube housing when delivered.

    EC-LED-SLIM Series To assemble the basement: Connect both side basements (A) and (B) with the four crossbars (C) – (F) using the screws (H). Screw the corner plates (L1) into each bottom corner of the basement. Use the screws and washers (L2) provided. 8x M10x25 Now install the height adjustable feet (N1) to the corner plates as (I1)

    EC-LED-SLIM Series Mounting the UGV basement The UGV basement will arrive partly assembled and must only be adjusted in the high and leveled. Fig. 14: Completely assembled UGV basement Adjustment of the high The adjustment of the high must be done before the cube housing is mounted. So first adjust the high of the UGV before starting with other steps.

    EC-LED-SLIM Series Adjusting the base At the bottom inside the base are two screws for adjusting the base. Both screws must be tightened to secure a stable stand of the construction. Fig. 16: Adjusting screws The adjustment should be done after an empty cube housing was mounted. Than a stable stand is guaranteed and on the base is some pressure.

    EC-LED-SLIM Series Mounting the cube housing For mounting the cube housing the cube housing must be laid down and the bases of the basement must be put in the cube housing. Alternatively you can mount the front screen to the basement and than put the housing on the basement.

    EC-LED-SLIM Series Mounting to wall Requirements for wall mounting Following requirements must be met for wall mounting: 3 Wall must be straight. 3 Wall must be able to bear the weight of the cubes. NOTE If the wall is not suitable it can lead to displacement and bracing between the cubes. NOTE The top cover must be installed on the top cubes before mounting the cube housings to the wall.
  • Page 30 EC-LED-SLIM Series Install the second cube exactly like the first and lean it on it. Align the second cube to the first one. Fig. 23: Two cubes side by side Bolting the cubes. The cubes must be connected to each other for better stability through the eyebolts (left picture) and a threaded bar (right picture).
  • Page 31 EC-LED-SLIM Series Install the front covers of the cubes. At the bottom of the front covers are on both sides butt straps which must be inserted in the suitable holes. On the upper side the front covers must be secured with a screw on both sides. The front covers of the bigger cubes have some additional butt straps.
  • Page 32 EC-LED-SLIM Series Install the projectors in the cubes again. Remind the bolts in the bottom and carefully put the projector in the cube housing placing it correctly on the bolts. Carefully move the projector until it fits to the bolts. Fig.

    EC-LED-SLIM Series Mounting the projection unit NOTICE Handling of the screens If the screen is handled incorrectly, the screen may be scratched or the housing damaged. ► Wear (cotton) gloves when installing the screen. ► Remove the cardboard protections from the screen before mounting it on the cube housing.

    EC-LED-SLIM Series Cabling the cubes The cubes are connected together via serial cables for control and monitoring of the cubes. The cube wall is connected to the control PC via a RS232 cable. Optionally a connection between cube wall and the control PC is possible via Ethernet cable: NOTE: The RS232 to RJ45 is adapter cable with 1:1 wiring.

    EC-LED-SLIM Series Transfer cables between cubes In the cube housing are holes to put cables from one cube to the other, e.g. when creating a Daisy-Chain between the projectors.     EC-LED-SLIM Series Addressing the cubes - Cube ID To control the cubes and to enable communication, each cube must be allocated with an individual address. The cubes are addressed with consecutive numbers. Looking on front side, the addressing starts on the top left cube of the video wall and continues as shown in the diagram below.

    Setting up network communication For network communication, the PC and the eyeDESIGN software must be set up. The eyevis eyeDESIGN software is the special software to create and setup video wall with eyevis products. Please refer to the manual of the eyeDESIGN software for more information.

    Tools For handling the front access mechanism, you need the eyevis provided tool. Two suction cups will be add to each cube wall with front access. If more suction cups are needed then they can be ordered separately.

    A test picture is used for this purpose. With the eyevis eyeDESIGN software, the size, position, keystone distortion and rotation can be adjusted. NOTE: Test images and the software for the geometry setting refer to the eyevis software CD. Installing the software Program installation and startup The program must not be installed.

    EC-LED-SLIM Series Geometry alignment with the mirror Sometimes there is the need to make the final alignment of the geometry with the mirror. On the mirror you can find 8 screws for the alignment. This screws can be reached from front or back side. The geometry alignment with the mirror should be the last step if the alignment does not fit with the software.

    Repair and return The defective product has to be sent to eyevis by the customer and is repaired within 21 days. In this case, eyevis bears the costs for required components that may be required or the arising working time, as well as for the costs for reshipment to the customer.

  • Page 54: Advised Procedure For Raising A Claim

    The customer has to pack the defective device properly in the original box, to label it as fragile, and to attach the RMA number visibly on the box. eyevis can provide a new original box on request. The customer is liable for damages caused by the use of improper or unsuitable packaging.

    The warranty shall not apply to repairs or service necessitated by normal wear and tear or for lack of reasonable and proper maintenance.
