Network Settings In this next section will cover the two different ways to connect the AmbiSonic L-240 to the internet, permitting the L-240 to broadcast a wireless internet signal. Method 1: Wired (Ethernet) To ensure the absolute best connection to the existing networks,...
Page 12
Method 2: Wireless (Wi-Fi) In some cases, a wired Ethernet connection to the L-240 is not feasible or aesthetically desirable. If hard-wired Ethernet is not a viable option, the L-240 amplifier can be attached to existing networks via Wi-Fi, provided the L-240’s location is within wireless range of the network.
Page 13
Connecting the Ambisonic L-240 to the Network LAN Connection (Best/Recommended) If possible, it’s best to make a direct connection to your network via a Cat5e or Cat6 cable. This provides the most stable and reliable network connection to the amplifier.
Page 14
2. Once the connection has been made, we recommended you turn the L-240 on and off once to allow it to properly configure its new internet settings. 3. It may also necessary to turn your router on and off once in order to allow it to properly configure the new settings.

Configuring Network Settings The Ambisonic L-240 Wireless Amplifier can be configured as either a WAP (Wireless Access Point) or as a Wireless Extender. Configuring the amplifier to work as either can be achieved through either wireless or Ethernet connections. Ethernet connection is best choice, for signal strength and reliability.
Page 29
WAP (Wireless Access Point) When the Ambisonic L-240 Wireless Amplifier is connected to the network with either an Ethernet or wireless connection, it will automatically begin acting as a WAP (Wireless Access Point). The L-240 is pre-configured with a default name and password.
Page 30
selecting “OK”, wait 2 minutes and then manually cycle your L- 240 off and on. Please also take this time to power cycle your router to ensure a solid connection is made after both systems reboot. System changes should take effect after the reboot of the amplifier and router.
Page 31
Extender The Ambisonic L-240 Wireless Amplifier can also be configured as a Wireless Extender. When configured as an Extender, you’ll be able to transition throughout your location while remaining connected to the same network. Once connected to the existing network at your location, access the configuration page of the amplifier at IP address: 192.168.100.1.
Page 32
Then, change both the name and password to match your current network. Doing so enables your L-240 amplifier to broadcast the same network name and password as your current router. This setup works best with a direct Ethernet connection. A hard- wired Ethernet connection allows the L-240 to broadcast at 100% signal strength.
