The current-closing rating of the contacts is 30 amperes for voltages not exceeding 250 volts.

If the tripping current exceeds 30 amperes, an auxiliary relay should be used, the connections being
such that the tripping current does not pass through the contdcts or the target and seal-in coils of the
protective relay.
The standard ins tantaneous unit ranges available are 4-16, 10-40, 20-80 and 40-160 amperes.
The high dropout instantaneous unit ranges available are 2-6, 4-12, 10-30 and 20-60 amperes.
The time-current characteris tics for the Type IAC66K relay induction unit are shown in Fig. 1.
Fig. 2 shows the time-current characteristics of the s tandard instant��eous unit.
The special high dropout ins tantaneous unit is designed to yield Gropout values of 80 percent, or
higher, of pickup current.
