  • Page 4 A number of additions and improvements are included in this range of equipment. The main difference is that the commentators box GSOC24 now has provision for 3 instead of 2 commentators. Low voltage phantom power is provided for each commentator to permit the use of modern headsets with electret microphones.     This commentators box is a development from our original GSOC4 commentators box. It is totally compatible with our previous range of units. It is possible to use this new GSOC24 commentator’s boxes with any of our original base stations type GSOC3, GSOC5 or GSOC8.

    The Glensound coaxial commentators equipment has limited dynamic range through the coaxial cable. It is therefore advantageous to control the GSOC24 commentators box front end gain to optimise the signal to noise ratio. Each channel input is therefore fitted with microcontroller controlled input amplier along with a limiter circuit.

  • Page 23 Each daughter board provides a simple function and there are several instances where a number of identical daughter boards are used. These daughter boards are soldered directly into the main boards. For maintenance Glensound recommends replacing any faulty daughter board. HANBOOK This handbook gives individual circuit diagrams of each daughter board as well as other circuits that are constructed directly on the three main PCBs.

    G GLENSOUND ELECTRONICS LTD INTERCONNECTING SUBRACK MONITORING If more than one GSOC26 is used it is possible to interlock the monitoring facilities. This is achieved by connecting a 9 way D lead between the subracks. Conn 6 on one subrack must be connected to conn 7 on the other.

    COMMENTATORS UNIT COAXIAL CABLE SPECIFICATION SPECIFICATION One of the major features of the Glensound Electronics commentators equipment is its use of a single coaxial cable to connect each box to the base station.
