1. INTRODUCTION The mulcher is designed and built for the upkeep of green areas in vegetable plantations, vineyards and nurseries, by shredding grass and/or pruning off-cuts. The mulcher can be connected to any tractor by using the three point coupling. This manual describes the user and maintenance instructions and the replacement parts supplied.
2. GENERAL TECHNICAL DETAILS Each mulcher is marked with an identity plate inscribed with the main technical data and is easily accessible and visible. adherence to the regulations in force. For this reason it must never be removed or used for any other purpose, and when the ma- chine is scrapped it will be necessary to destroy the plate to avoid abusive use.

This danger symbol, used throughout the manual, stands for any standard that could com- promise your safety and that of other people and the working order of the mower.
PROTECTION DEVICE: is a device that reduces risk (unlike the guard) either on its own or together with the protection. INTENDED USE: the use of the machine in accordance with the information provided in the operating instructions. REASONABLE FORSEEABLE MISUSE: the use of the machine differently from the information provided in the operator’s instructions, which may be the result of readily predictable human behaviour.

ATTENTION! In the event that a tractor without a sound-proofed and pressurised cab is used, the operator must use protection systems: - Dust-mask if because of the type of work (dusty soil) a considerable amount of dust is rai- sed. 3.2 Ergonomics In the prescribed operating conditions, the discomfort, fatigue, psychological stress and physical stress of the operator must reduced as much as possible by taking into account the...
4.1 Procedure for transport 4. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE The mulcher is delivered already assembled Remove the protection covering and check for any damage which may have been caused during transport, and also: - check that all the bolts and nuts are tight; - ensure that the cutter knives mounting screws A indicated in , are properly...
4.2 Regulating the Roller Regulate the roller stand until the cutting hammers don’t come out of the surface made from the two skids. In so doing, even if the ground is uneven the cutting hammers will not penetrate the ground being worked on.
4.3 Attachment to the tractor coupled to any tractor equipped with a universal three point coupling. The Manufacturer declines all responsibility for breakages on the tractor. The mulcher is equipped with a 1” 3/8 splined power take-off shaft which can be coupled via a drive shaft to any tractor equipped with a 3 point attachment.
WARNING Raise the mulcher from the ground and set the cutting height (see 4.6). Adjust the position of the mulcher with the lifting rig, so that the mulcher is horizontal or with the front end slightly higher to facilitate the entry of the material. 4.4 Drive-shaft The angle at which the drive-shaft is operating must be the minimum possible (10°): this favours longevity in the drive-shaft and in the mulcher (...

1/3 L.max Cm 4 L.min. 1/3L (Fig.7) ATTENTION As the mulcher, is equipped with a freewheel in the gearbox, it can also be attached to that the inertia of the rotor will prevent the mulcher/tractor assembly from stopping rapidly. Release 03-05/12 Pag.18 Cod.
4.5 Before using Before starting the mulcher the following procedures must be carried out: - Check that all screws and nuts are tight; - Check that the machine is in working order, the lubricants are at the correct levels (see chapter “MAINTENANCE”) and all other wearing parts are in perfect working order;...
4.7 Operation When the PTO is connected the cutting knives of the mulcher rotate at a ratio proportional to the motorised cultivator or the tractor. To get the best performance out of your machine the following precautions have to be ta- ken: The best method to shred the material is obtained with the tow vehicle at low speed and high revolutions: Lower the mulcher’s ground height gradually.
4.8 Safety devices The operator’s safety is safeguarded by the function of the safety devices incorporated in the mulcher. WARNING! It is imperative that the following devices must not be tampered with or removed and should always be kept in perfect working order. The safety devices included in the mulcher are of the mechanical type: - Tubular frame des;...
5. MAINTENANCE 5.1 Periodic services cking and maintenance services are required (see table below). Every 400 First 8 Every 8 Every 50 hours of hours of hours of hours of operation operation operation operation - General check - Tighten screws and bolts - Check wear on hammers and their locking bolts - Grease spiders and drive-shaft...
(Fig.10) WARNING Dispose of used oil in compliance with the anti pollution laws in force in the country of residence. 5.3 Hammers: use and replacement The hammers that are supplied with the mulcher are adapted for working on normal ground surfaces.
Page 24
(Fig.11) The quality, integrity and safety of the mulcher are all dependent on the care which is devoted to the hammers, which must be replaced immediately if damaged. Normal wear and tear, which is particularly rapid on sandy ground or when working with the mulcher set too low, and impact against obstacles, can produce distortion or fractures in the hammers, which can cause a deterioration in the quality of work, an increase in vibration, with possible damage to the mulcher, and complete or partial breakage of the hammers with...
5.4 Transmission belts The engine power is transmitted to the rotor via adjustable belts. The transmission belt tension must be checked periodically, or in case of malfunction or slipping, by following the procedure described below: - remove the protection cover nuts A ( - loosen the locknut B;...
5.5 Troubleshooting Excessive pulverisation of the product to be shredded - Raise the mulcher slightly from the ground by adjusting the height - Increase the forward speed Inadequate pulverisation of the product to be shredded - Lower the mulcher slightly towards the ground by adjusting the height - Reduce the forward speed - Do not work on ground which is too wet or muddy Clogging of the rotor...
5.7 Scrapping the mulcher At the end of the entire machine’s working life or any of its worn components that, scrapping and demolition must be carried out at a specialised scrapyard. WARNING! It is forbidden to abandon or dump the machine or any of its components. The com- ponents may pose physical danger or as in the case of the lubricants or paints may cause environmental pollution.
