Description
Model 8587-1 is a portable drain designed to:
• safely capture the oil from engine crankcases,
transmissions, and differentials
• be emptied with the use of air pressure
CAUTION
Do not exceed 7 psi (0.5 Bar) air pressure when emp-
tying this drain. Damage to components can occur.
The drain consists of a(n):
• offset collection bowl with strainer and 23-inch
(58 cm) splash guard (offers 31-inch [78 cm]
total lateral reach)
• 24-gallon (90 liter) tank with twin casters, handle, level
gauge, and tool tray
• 79-inch (2 m) drain hose with nozzle and plug
The drain is also equipped with:
• two manually-operated shut-off ball valves
• an air connector and pressure-relief valve
Collection Bowl Assembly
The strainer within the collection bowl assembly guards
against loose items entering the tank. It mounts on an
extension tube that can extend up to 26 " (66 cm).
See Figure 1.
The tube is held in position by a manually-operated
locking wheel. This mechanism holds the collection bowl at
the desired height.
