OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
LOCKING LID FEATURE
Your slow cooker comes with a suction seal Locking Lid. This feature ensures the safe
and leak-proof transporting of your food. Do not lock the slow cooker during the cooking
process.
• Lock the Lid when you have completed cooking and want to transport your Stoneware
Insert without worrying about leaking or spilling.
• Start with the Sliding Lid Locks in the opened position.
• Place the Lid onto the Stoneware Insert.
• Use one hand to gently push down on the Lid. Use your other hand to push both
Sliding Lid Locks, one at a time, inwards and into the locked position.
CAUTION: When removing the Lid, grasp the Lid Knob on the center of the Lid and lift
to allow steam to escape before setting cover aside. To avoid burns, always hold cover so
that escaping steam flows away from hands and face.
COOKING SAFEGUARDS
• If you suspect that the power has gone out during the day, the food may be unsafe to
eat. If you are unaware of how long the power was out, we suggest you discard the
food inside.
• To avoid over or under-cooking, always fill the Stoneware Insert 1/2 to 3/4 full to
conform to recommended cook times.
• To prevent spillover, do not fill Stoneware Insert higher than 3/4 full.
• Always cook with the Lid on for the recommended time. Do not remove the Lid during
the first two hours of cooking.
• Always wear oven mitts when handling the Lid or the Stoneware Insert.
• Unplug when cooking is done, and before cleaning.
• The removable Stoneware Insert is ovenproof and microwave safe. Do not use
removable Stoneware Insert on gas or electric burner or under broiler. Refer to
