a. Place the mercury battery so that the ( + ) plus
side is facing you. Replace
cover. Handle battery
o n t h e s i d e s i n c e f i n g e r m a r k s o n t h e ( + ) s i d e
or the ( - ) side may harm the battery.
. Be sure not to conf use the ( + ) pole with the
( - ) p o l e .
b. Turn on the meter setting switch.
. When the meter is not used, turn off the switch.
. When the meter is left unused for a long time,
take the mercury battery out of the battery

a. Turn and set the battery circuit setting switch
to B. C.

a very satisfactory
voltage. lf, however,
the
n e e d l e d o e s n o t p o i n t a t t h e c h e c k m a r k e i t h e r
t h e b a t t e r y h a s b e e n p l a c e d i n t h e m e t e r i n t h e
wrong position
or the battery should be replaced.
. The mercury battery has a service life of about
1 5 - 1 8 m o n t h s ,
d u r i n g w h i c h i t m a i n t a i n s
a s t a b l e
voltage. When its service life comes to an end,
its voltage radically decreases.
. Replacement
battery should be either a Mallory
RM 625, Eveready
E 626 or equivalent.
