Transmitter Supply Voltage Selection (P+, P-) All meters, including models equipped with the 12/24 VDC power option, are shipped from the factory configured to provided 24 VDC power for the transmitter or sensor.

Switching Inductive Loads The use of suppressors (snubbers) is strongly recommended when switching inductive loads to prevent disrupting the microprocessor’s operation. The suppressors also prolong the life of the relay contacts. Suppression can be obtained with resistor-capacitor (RC) networks assembled by the user or purchased as complete assemblies.

This digital input is connected with a normally open contact across F4 and COM, or with an active low signal applied to F4.

Scaling the Meter without a Signal Source The process input (4-20 mA, ± VDC) can be scaled to display the process variables in engineering units. A signal source is not needed to scale the meter; simply program the inputs and corresponding display values.

After the error message is displayed, the meter reverts to the input 2 during calibration or scaling and to input 1 during internal calibration, allowing the appropriate input signal to be applied or programmed.

Relay Sampling Operation When the signal crosses the set point, the relay trips and the sample time starts. After the sample time has elapsed, the relay resets. The cycle repeats every time the set point is crossed, going up for high alarms and going down for low alarms.

Pump Alternation Control Applications (ALtErn) For pump control applications where two or more similar pumps are used to control the level of a tank or a well, it is desirable to have all the pumps operate alternately. This prevents excessive wear and overheating of one pump over the lack of use of the other pumps.

Noise Filter Bypass (byPASS) The noise filter bypass changes the behavior of the meter so that small variations in the signal are filtered out but large abrupt changes in the input signal are displayed immediately. The by- pass value determines the minimum amount of signal change to be displayed immediately.
