axle
and the

Rear
shock absorber removal and
refitting
The
rear
shock
absorbers
of the
hydraulic
teles-
copic
damper type and
are
sealed units
Íequiring
no main-
tenance.
No
dismantling
is
possible
so
units must
be
changed
when
no longer
serviceable.
Removal:

From
the
rear
floor
of the
car remove the
cap

Unscrew
the
nylstop
nut

holding
the
rod through
the
flat portion
at
the
end.

Remove the cup 3. and the rubber
thrust
washer

axle
tube
unscrew
the nylstop nut

remove

spacer
was
installed as part
of the
upper attachment
to
eliminate knocking (see

7:9).

absorber
rod was
made

longer

spacer.

Place
the thrust
washers

the shock
absorber

rear

the shock
absorber
held
in position,
seat the
thrust
washer and the cup

nylstop nut and torque load

rear
axle tube, extend the shock
absorber

that
the
top
comes against the support.

Install the thrust washer,
cup
and
a new
nylstop
nut

toroue
