CONGRATULATIONS You have just acquired an advanced timepiece born from a partnership between La Manufacture L’Épée 1839 and MB&F. Octopod has been developed with passion and care by L’Epée 1839’s Master Watchmakers in Delémont - Switzerland.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE It is not recommended to hold Octopod only by one leg – this can lead to damage. Fingerprints will also damage the coating so always wear gloves when manipulating the clock or wipe out the finger- print. Use only a soft and dry cloth to clean the clock. Dust and particles contained in the cloth could scratch parts.
A KINETIC SCULPTURE The head Octopod has a completely transparent spherical ‘head’ which rotates 360°, both vertically and horizontally. The gimbal ensures that no matter what angle or height it sits, it is easy to rotate the glass bubble so that the time dis- play inside is at the ideal plane for maximum legibility.

A KINETIC SCULPTURE The legs Octopod stands or crouches on flat or uneven surfaces thanks to its eight articulated legs. Each leg can be individ- ually adjusted to varying heights, enabling Octopod to rest securely on the most uneven of surfaces.
HOURS AND MINUTES DISPLAY Reading the time The hours and minutes are indicated by the two hands. The escapement which regulates the clock’s precision, is located on its minute hand. In this example it is 4:40 Minutes Hours In this example it is 10:10 Hours Minutes...
SETTING THE TIME Place the clock upright on a flat surface and turn the sphere sideways. Insert the key in Point A on the diagram. Turn the key anti-clockwise ONLY in order to set the time. (A) TIME SETTING (Anti-clockwise ONLY, see the arrow on the plate)
Be sure to wind the spring completely. Resistance will increase as you approach the full winding point, but continue to wind Octopod until you feel you have approached the breaking point (sign that the movement is fully wound).
