Elaho Vacancy Sensor
Overview
The Elaho Vacancy Sensor is a ceiling mounted sensor that utilizes passive
infrared (PIR) technology, providing reliable vacancy detection for lighting
control. The sensor relies on local station control for manual on and provides
auto off functionality upon detection of vacancy.
Custom Configuration
This document guides you through the installation and local configuration of
the Vacancy Sensor. For more detailed information about custom
configuration options available for the Vacancy Sensor using ElahoAccess,
reference the ElahoAccess Mobile App integrated help system.

The Vacancy Sensor provides 360 degree coverage of the
installed location and is available in three models:
E-VAC-SR- Vacancy Sensor with small room lens
covers 450 sq. ft. at 8 ft./ 800 sq. ft. at 10 ft.
E-VAC - Vacancy Sensor with standard room lens
covers 1,800 sq. ft. at 8 ft./ 3,000 sq. ft. at 10 ft.
E-VAC-HC - Vacancy Sensor with high ceiling lens
covers 300 sq. ft. at 10 ft./ 7,000 sq. ft. at 40 ft.
Each sensor is available in white or black finish. Lens
masks are provided to allow customized vacancy
detection fields as required by each installation.

    EchoConnect is a bidirectional protocol that uses one pair of wires (data + and data -) for both data and power. Echoflex recommends using Belden 8471 (or approved equal) Class 2 wire. The total combined length of an EchoConnect wire run (using Belden 8471, or equal) may not exceed 1,640 feet (500 m).

    Echoflex Installation Guide Elaho Vacancy Sensor Soft Ceiling Tile Installation EchoConnect pigtail and connectors (optional use) Poke the adapter through the ceiling tile, then bend it over for a secure fit. Terminate wires here Pull the Belden 8471 (or equivalent) and 14 AWG (2.5 mm ) ground wire to the installation location.

    Echoflex Installation Guide Elaho Vacancy Sensor Strip each wire 5/16” (8 mm) and terminate the EchoConnect (white and black wires) and ground wire (green/yellow) to the EchoConnect terminal block located on the sensor control board. Torque each termination to 3.1-3.5 in-lb.

    Echoflex Installation Guide Elaho Vacancy Sensor DIP Switch Settings DIP switches on the rear panel of the Vacancy Sensor provide for additional configuration options including Use Custom Config, Vacancy Timeout, Enable/Disable PIR detection LED, and the ability to restore the sensor to its factory defaults.

    Echoflex Installation Guide Elaho Vacancy Sensor Power Up and Test Power Up All EchoConnect terminations in the system must be made before applying power to the system and sensor. When the sensor is powered up, the PIR LED illuminates for one minute for calibration and warm-up, and then returns to normal operation.

    Echoflex Installation Guide Elaho Vacancy Sensor Lens Masking Lens masks are provided in the packaging for your convenience, used to block a section of the lens from detecting vacancy. As needed, trim the lens mask to fit the desired area to be blocked.

Make certain the sensor and lighting loads are powered and connected for control by the Elaho controller. You will need direct access to the Vacancy Sensor in order to place it into Walk Test mode.
