    Security is everyone’s business AM Machinery, safety of the operator is one of the main concerns in designing and developing a new piece of equipment. Designers and manufacturers build in as many safety features as possible. However, every year many accidents occurs which could have been avoided by a few seconds of thought and a more careful approach to handling equipment.

    Remember Your best insurance against accidents is a careful and responsible operator. If there is any portion of this manual or function you do not understand, contact your local authorized dealer or the manufacturer. Prepare to wrap Do not wear loose-fitting clothing, which may catch in moving parts. Always wear protective clothing and substantial shoes.

  • Page 13 Plastic Installation For security reason, the motor will be stop when you open the side door to install the plastic roller, ( photo #3 p. 11) Need to reset to restart (reset button picture #5 p.17) The plastic must be treaded over the slave roller and then through the two red rollers on the tensionner as shown on the diagram.

    Making Silage Bale quality Well shaped firm bales are necessary for successful wrapping. Bales are best wrapped as soon as possible after baling. If bales are left unwrapped they will sag and lose shape. Heating will start soon after baling and the protein quality will be lost. It is desirable to wrap within four hours of bailing.

    Wrapping Site Recommendations Select a site, which will allow for making adequate length rows of bales. The Stretch-O- Matic is a very fast wrapper but requires time to set up and move to a new row. There ® should be space for at least fifty bales in a row. Select a site that is accessible all year round and which does not flood in the spring.

    Automatic model Start the engine, make certain it is free of hay or combustible material. Start as recommended at top of page above and after starting the engine put the machine in manual mode. Press forward button to close bale pusher, lowering roller table then install roll of plastic according to the Plastic Installation Diagram on page 12.

  • Page 19 The photocell located on the bale cradle is activated when the bale is placed on the wrapper. This switch starts the bale pusher (ram) moving the bale towards the hoop. The moment the bale pusher (ram) hits the second limit switch should correspond to the front of the bale entering the hoop.

    Plastic Application Careful application of an adequate amount of plastic is critical to gives good quality product. Careless application of plastic will result in losses. Continually watch for «dark windows» indicating that not enough plastic has been applied. • You can adjust the sliding limit switches positions to get a customized plastic application.

    After Wrapping After wrapping, inspect the rows of silage regularly to insure there is no damage occurring from birds, rodents or livestock. Feeding out With the Stretch-O-Matic bale wrapper, bales can be picked up by a loader without ® cutting the plastic. The plastic breaks away between the bales and can be removed from the side of the bales before dropping the bales in the feeder.

    General Troubleshooting PROBLEM Bale pusher has a jerky motion and does not push the bale all the way. POSSIBLE CAUSE Not enough hydraulic oil SOLUTION Check hydraulic oil level, add more hydraulic oil if needed. PROBLEM Bale pusher pushes the bale all the way through the hoop and engine stops.

    Plastic Troubleshooting PROBLEM Wrinkles in the plastic with seams between layers visible. POSSIBLE CAUSE Plastic routed the wrong way SOLUTION Check that the plastic is routed correctly through the red tensionners see page 9. POSSIBLE CAUSE Tensionner installed the wrong way SOLUTION Check tensionner installation, the fast roller has to be on the outside.
