Door & Window Protection Alarm
INSTALLATION & OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
INTRODUCTION
This is a wireless security alarm designed for the home, workshop or small business. It has
been developed to be easy to set up and operate, giving both your family and yourself the
security and peace of mind that you deserve. This system detects entry to your premises by
using a Magnetic Window/Door Tamper Detector trigger that alarms when a window or
door is opened.
INSTALLATION
1. Open the AM612 Alarm and determine where it is to be located. The Window & Door
Sensor is usually placed on front or rear doors but can also be used to secure windows.
2. Remove battery cover on the control panel and place 2 x AA alkaline batteries in the
compartment. Replace cover.
3. Prepare the installation of the Control Panel by putting one screw (screw head less than
7mm dia.) in your desired location at a convenient height above the floor and 32.5mm
from the edge of the door frame. Mount the Control Panel using the hang hole on the rear -
the unit should be flush with the edge of the door frame - then secure the Control Panel from
the front using the lower hole.
4. Install the reed switch using screws provided. Proper positioning of the Window/Door
Sensor is important. Ensure that the wireless reed switch sensor and magnet are parallel
and the arrows are pointing directly at one another. Separation between the pieces must
not exceed 10mm or the unit will trigger (Fig_01).
