Congratulations on your choice of an AgriMetal Front Mount Leaf & Debris Blower to complement your
operation. This equipment has been designed and manufactured to meet the needs of a discerning turf
care industry.
Safe, efficient and trouble free operation of your AgriMetal Leaf & Debris Blower requires that you and
anyone else who will be operating or maintaining the machine, read and understand the Safety, Operation,
Maintenance and Trouble Shooting information contained within the Operator's Manual.
This manual covers the Models BW 2500-F JD - 1500 Front Mount Leaf & Debris Blower with electric chute
positioning used with the John Deere 1500 series tractor. Use the Table of Contents or Index as a guide to
locate required information.
Keep this manual handy for frequent reference and to pass on to new operators or owners. Call your Agri-
Metal Dealer if you need assistance, information or additional copies of the manuals.
OPERATOR ORIENTATION - The directions left, right, front and rear, as mentioned throughout this manual,
are as seen from the tractor driver's seat and facing in the direction of travel.

Always use tools, equipment and forklifts of appropriate size and capacity for the job. Always use 2 men when lifting, moving and assembling the machine.

    MACHINE COMPONENTS The AgriMetal Front Mount Leaf & Debris Blower is a large blower mounted on a frame for moving debris on a stream of air. The air stream can be directed to the right or straight ahead depending on the chute position.

  • Page 26 CONTROLS Before starting to work, all operators should familiarize themselves with the location and function of the controls. Chute Position Switch: This 3 position spring-loaded-to-center- neutral switch controls the electrical power to the position actuator. Depress and hold the top portion of the switch to turn the chute clockwise.
  • Page 27 ATTACHING/UNHOOKING The Blower is designed to fit on the front of a John Deere 1500 series mower. Follow this procedure when attaching blower: Clear the area of bystanders, especially small children. Machine Position the Blower with enough space and clearance for the power unit to drive up to the machine.
  • Page 28 Remove the driveline from the mower. Install the driveline to blower input shaft: Clean the splines on the input shaft and the yoke. NOTE Be sure the input shaft can tel- escope freely before installing it. Disassemble, remove old grease, apply clean grease and reassemble.

  • Page 30 Raise power unit floorboard. Raise the driveline and position it over the front axle. NOTE Lift the floorboards of the mower to access power shaft. Retract the lock pin and slide over the power shaft. Pull on it to be sure the lock pin seats in its groove.

  • Page 34 Use the switch on the console to set the position of the air chute. Travel Speed: Set the travel speed appropriate for the job being done. Travel faster if all the debris is being blown away. Slow down if some debris is not being removed.

    MAINTENANCE By following a careful service and maintenance pro- gram for your machine, you will enjoy many years of trouble-free service. 6.2.1 BLOWER DRIVE BELT TENSION AND ALIGNMENT A set of V belts transmits rotational power to the blower. They must be kept properly tensioned and the pulleys aligned to obtain the expected performance and life.
