This card explains how to quickly install and configure the DIGITAL MultiSwitch 612EX module.

You need the following items to install this product:

DIGITAL MultiSwitch 600 Stack Station or

Stack Director or DEChub 900 MultiSwitch

Part 1: Installing the Module in a DIGITAL MultiSwitch 600 System

Follow the numbered procedures in this section, in order, to install and start the DIGITAL

MultiSwitch 612EX module.

Procedure 1: Install Any Mod-MACs You Have Chosen to Use Into the Module

Mod-MACs are not hot-swappable. Always power off the DIGITAL MultiSwitch 612EX

before removing or inserting Mod-MACs.

Remove the dust covers from the option slots on the module.

Insert the Mod-MAC, aligning its sides with the card guide on the option slot.

Push in the connector until it is seated in the option slot. Secure the Mod-MAC using the two

captive screws that are shipped with it. Install up to two Mod-MACs into the module.

Page 2 Procedure 2: Install the Module into a Stack Director or Stack Station Step Action Place the module’s mounting tab into the mounting slot on the Stack Director or Stack Station. Push the module securely against the Stack Director or Stack Station. Tighten the slotted thumbscrew on the Stack Director or Stack Station.
Page 3 Procedure 1: Prepare for Installation Step Action Read chapter 1 of the DIGITAL MultiSwitch 612EX Installation and Configuration manual for an understanding of module concepts. Install any optional media Mod-MACs for the module before installing it in the DEChub 900 MultiSwitch.
Page 4 The console will be redirected to the module. The DIGITAL MultiSwitch 612EX menu appears. From the DIGITAL MultiSwitch 612EX menu, select the desired menu item. For example, select 3 to see the current settings. Press Return to return to the main installation menu.
