Right pump universal - system operation
and LED indication
Right Pump Universal range is designed
to protect customers by responding to
unexpected and unforeseen conditions.
These pumps will only switch OFF if the
unexpected or unforeseen conditions are
serious.
Right pump universal capable of:
• Sensing supply water temperature
• Dry run protection
• Sensing chronic aeration or water starvation
• LED indication of unforeseen system
malfunction.

Hunting Protection
Flashing: Detecting a
potential dripping tap or
slow system leak.
Steady: Drip or system
leak found. Protection
initiated and pump locked
out.
Once issue is identified
and resolved, switch
mains supply off and on
again to reset the pump

A system malfunction is indicated by three
LEDs located on the top of the pump
junction box.
Non return valves
in the discharge pipework between the
pump outlets and the system outlets unless
specified by Salamander Pumps.

IMPORTANT NOTE
The HOT and COLD pump ends are
identified by RED (hot) and BLUE (cold)
tie wraps.
Dry Run Production
Flashing: detecting
aeration or water
starvation in pump
chambers.
Steady: aeration or
water starvation found.
Protection initiated and
pump locked out.
Once issue is identified
and resolved, switch
mains supply off and on
again to reset the pump
MUST NOT be fitted
Excessive Temperature
Steady: Water or pump
over temperature.
Protection initiated and
pump locked out. The
pump will restart when
water temperature cools
to within limits.
