~ Activating the typewriter:
Move the POINTING FINGER
~
to the TYPEWRITER on the
MAGIC DESK and press
the ACT10 N BUTTON . The
typewriter screen will appear
with a white box around the typ ewriter at the
bottom of the sc re en. You can on ly type on
the page while the typew rit er is "on" (sur-
rounded by white box).
Moving to another menu item: Press the
ACTIO N BUTTON and the white square
d isappears , letting you move the PO INTING
FIN GER to ano th er item. You ca n move
back to th e typewriter after using another
menu item.

writer. To CHANGE MARGIN SETT INGS
move the POINTING FINGER to the MAR -
GIN PICTURE and press the ACTION BUT-
TON. Use the JOYSTICK / CONTROLLER to
set the LEFT MARGIN ARROW, p ress the
ACTIO N BUTTON to "free ze" the setting,
th en set the RIGHT MARG IN ARROW Press
the ACT ION BUTTON TWICE to return to the
sc reen menu . Use the F1 / F2 KEY as a
MARGIN RELEASE KEY to type ou tside the
margins.

Setting
&
clearing tabs:
The
F3/ F4 FUNCTION KEY acts as a
TAB KEY, to move quickly to a pre-
set position on a line. This key
moves the carriage to the FAR
RIG HT MARGI N (end of line), un-
less you "SET A TAB ". To se t a TAB,
move th e carriage to the position
you wa nt and press the F5 / F6
FUN CTION KEY. Now when you
press the F3 /F4 KEY the carriage moves to
th at position. To CLEAR A TAB al ready set,
move to the TAB position and press the
F7/F8 FUNCTION KEY

Typing a page:
Your computer key-

board. Each page of pape r on you r screen
correspond s to a sheet of 81!2 by 11 inch
typ ing paper (80 spaces ac ross by 66 lines
up and down). Each le tt er, number or
punctua tion symbol you ty pe appears on
your "page", then the car ria ge moves one
space to the left. Typing functions control led
by SPEC IAL KEYS include

Moving around a page: The two
CRSR keys let you move up, down
and sideways on the page. The
SIDEWAYS CRSR moves you
RI GHT If you ho ld down the SHI FT
KEY, it moves you LEFT The UPI
DOWN CRSR moves you down ,
with the SHIFT KEY, it moves you up.
