5. Operation

5.1. Before fi rst use
 Remove all packaging materials.
 Set up the appliance on a level, dry and heat-resistant work surface at a comfort-
able height.
5.1.1. Heating before first use
Before using your waffle maker for the first time, the appliance must be heated
while empty for a few minutes to remove any manufacturing-related residues from
the cooking surfaces.
PLEASE NOTE!
During this initial heating period you may notice faint odours. This is
not a malfunction of the appliance. Ensure adequate ventilation, e.g. by
opening a window.
 Wipe the cooking surfaces with a damp cloth.
 Close the lid.
 Unwind the connection cable fully.
 Set the temperature control to the lowest level.
 Insert the mains plug into an earthed 220-240 V ~ 50 Hz pow-
er socket.
 The red indicator light lights up.
 Set the temperature control to the highest level.
 When the green indicator light lights up, the waffle maker has
reached the desired temperature.
WARNING!
Risk of scalding!
The touchable surfaces of the appliance will become
very hot during operation.

Only touch the appliance on the handle or the tem-
perature control during operation!

Use oven gloves for this reason.
