Sensitivity adjustment
Series 40 (KAS-40(42)...)
The analogue sensors of the series 40 do not have a LED.
Dependent on the model used, in the uncovered state the output current value is 20(4) mA and
moves with the reduction of the object distance towards 4(20) mA.
The value to be adjusted for the analogue sensors is the desired operating range. This means
filling level or distance of the active surface to the object to be detected. This value must be
within the maximum possible operating range (see specification sheet). The MIN-value is preset
and only the MAX-value needs to be adjusted.
When the device is properly installed and functioning, position the object / material to be de-
tected in the desired maximum position and adjust the operating range by means of the poten-
tiometer screw. With the help of an ammeter the current value 20 mA (IL4) or 4 mA (IL20) has
to be adjusted.
The setting is completed.
