Vibration: Appears when you set the
ringer volume for calls to Vibrate or
High+Vib or when the phone is in Silent
mode.
Digital Mode: Indicates when the phone
is logged onto a digital network.
1x Mode: Indicates when the phone is in
1x mode.
Battery Status: Shows the level of your
battery. The more bars you see, the more
power you have left.

Backlight

The display is illuminated by a backlight. When you
press any key, the backlight illuminates. It turns off if
no key is pressed within a given period of time,
depending on the Backlight option set in the Display
menu.
To specify the length of time for which the backlight is
active, set the Backlight menu (MENU 7-3). See
page 100 for further details.
Note
: In Standby mode or Talk mode, the display
automatically turns off after some time to
conserve your battery power. Press any key to
turn the display on.

Service Light

The service light is at the outline of the navigation key.
It flashes to indicate incoming call or message. Also,
the service light flashes for a few seconds when you
turn on the phone.
To turn the service light on or off, use the Service
LED menu option (MENU 7-6); see page 102 for
further details.
