    Measurement Method Healthy Living monitors measure blood pressure and pulse rate by using an oscillometric method, meaning the fluctuations in pressure are measured. Once the cuff is wrapped around the upper arm, the monitor is turned on and the cuff is automatical- ly inflated.

    Perform the measurement in a quiet environment, in a relaxed posi- tion at room temperature using your left arm. *Your Healthy Living Blood Pressure monitor is not designed for right arm use and is only intended for left arm use. If you do not have a left arm, or if you have had a chest operation, you should ask your physician for advice.

    Healthy Living monitors have been clinically tested against a scientific device called a sphygmomanometer, considered the gold standard in blood pressure measurement. All Healthy Living monitors have per- formed equivalent to measurements taken with this scientific device and are within the accuracy limits prescribed by the American National Standard for Electronic or Automated Sphygmomanometers.

    Insert the Cuff Plug into the Cuff Plug Jack on the Monitor. Pull the Velcro tab so the cuff is laying flat with the Velcro facing up at you. Pull the cuff to the left of the metal ring to form an opening for your arm.

    Storing, recalling, and erasing Storing data After each measurement, the systolic and diastolic rates, pulse rate and the time & date will be automatically stored. * The memory holds data for the latest 90 measurements in each of 2 memory zones. If more than 90 measurements are entered, the memory will automatically clear out the oldest data.
