Battery Fitting

Open the Battery compartment, by removing the two screws
from the bottom of the Instrument and lifting off the cover.
Insert one 9 Volt battery PP3 style (MN 1604 or equivalent), with
terminals facing down. The orientation of the battery is not important; the
instrument will work with the battery fitted either way.
Refit the battery compartment cover.

Probe Insertion

Insert the probe plug into the socket at the top of the Instrument,
ensuring correct probe type and polarity are observed. Also ensure that
the plug pins are pushed firmly into the socket.
NOTE: For safety, do not bring probe into contact with any surface
connected to a hazardous voltage i.e. above 50Volts.
Some probes have sharp points and care must be taken to avoid injury.

Operation:

Apply probe tip to substance being measured, and allow reading to
stabilise. This stabilisation time will vary with the different sizes of
probes.
When the instrument is on, pressing the
backlight facility for low light areas.
There is an auto shut -off facility, which will turn the instrument off
automatically after approx. 3 minutes.
When the battery symbol appears on the display, the battery needs
replacing. Fit new battery before taking any further readings.
