PROTEUS - user manual COM Express Type 1 carrier board expansion In the COM Express carrier board implementation the external IO from the module is provided via the COM Express board-to-board connector. The carrier board can be implemented using a method that best suits your needs.
Hardware implementation The backbone does not allow peer-to-peer transactions, so if the incoming PCI Express data is being transferred to the PATA port, then the two devices have to share the backbone with PCI Express data being transferred to memory, and then from memory to the PATA port. In some usage models for the PROTEUS, full data bandwidth of devices is not available.
PROTEUS - user manual The US15W SCH contains one EHCI and three UHCI USB controllers to provide support for up six USB 2.0 ports allowing high, full and low speed USB ports and two ports supporting high speed only operation. USB ports 1, 3, 6 and 7 are made available on the COM Express board-to-board connector.
Hardware implementation PCI Express Mini Card Two PCI Express mini card sockets conforming to the PCI Express™ Mini Card Electromechanical Specification Revision 1.2 are provided on the COM Express module. To support cellular wireless mini cards one mini card socket provides a SIM card slot and the second mini card socket provides a SIM card interface on header.
BlueTooth stack. Bluetooth module is connected to the SuperIO COM port 3. ZigBee (Build option) An optional ZigBee interface is available using a Eurotech NanoZigBee module. This interface is provided instead of the Bluetooth module and interfaced via a COM port 3 to the host.
Hardware implementation Micro SD socket A MicroSD memory socket is provided on the PROTEUS module. The US15W SCH contains three SDIO/MMC ports. SDIO Port 1 is connected to a 4-bit MicroSD card socket. Port 2 is connected to a ZIF connector and port 0 is not used. The SDIO/MMC controller supports MMC4.0 and SDIO1.1 specifications.
