Aftertreatment System Regen
Switches
NOTE: See
Chapter 12
about the operation of the regeneration (regen)
switches and the aftertreatment system (ATS).
IMPORTANT: Depending upon local jurisdic-
tional emissions guidelines, vehicles that are
domiciled outside of the U.S. and Canada may
not have engines and/or emissions aftertreat-
ment systems that are compliant with EPA07,
EPA10, GHG14, or GHG17 regulations.
Regen may be started manually with the optional
digital switch in the ICUC. See
10/28/2016
Fig. 4.9, Regen Start Digital Switch
Some vehicles may be equipped with a regen inhibit

Fig.
4.10. To stop a regen in progress or
prevent the start of a regen, press the upper half of
the switch. Regen will be delayed until the switch is
no longer active.

Engine Brake Switches
NOTE: See
Chapter 13
about engine brake operation.
Whenever vehicle braking is required on good road
conditions, the engine brake may be used in con-
junction with the service brakes. There is no time
limit for operation of the engine brake. However, an
engine brake does not provide the precise control of,
and is not a substitute for, service brakes.
