CARE AND MAINTENANCE
To extend the life of your Rise reel, always protect the outer
frame and spool. We also recommend the following easy
maintenence tips:
To clean the reel, first rinse off any dirt or grit in cool
fresh water.
Use a cloth or toothbrush to carefully remove all sand
and grit from the reel with warm soapy water and rinse
again.
Separate the spool from the frame and dry thoroughly.
Once dry, reduce the drag pressure to the lowest setting
and store in the reel case.
Always store reel away from extreme heat.
After using in saltwater, always take the time to clean
your reel. Saltwater can leave a residue that will harden
over time if not properly cleaned and dried.

Questions and answers
No drag. Knob spins, not engaging the friction plates.
To fix a drag issue on a Redington Rise reel where the knob spins without engaging the friction plates, try the following steps:
1. Disassemble the reel: Separate the spool from the frame.
2. Check the one-way bearing: Ensure the one-way bearing in the frame is installed correctly with the metal housing facing up for right-hand retrieve.
3. Inspect internal components: Look for any damage or misalignment in the drag system or friction plates.
4. Clean and dry: Thoroughly dry all components and clean off any salt residue if used in saltwater.
5. Reassemble: Place the spool back in the frame, snap the wire retainer back into the groove, and ensure it is properly seated.
6. Test drag: Confirm that the drag knob now adjusts the pressure properly and allows smooth operation.
If the issue persists, contact warranty and repair service at 1-866-498-7243 or email warranty@redington.com.
