    To remove DIMM, reverse the installation procedure. Note When removing a defective DIMM, check error messages displayed on POST or NEC ESMPRO and check the DIMM socket where the defective DIMM is installed. Take the steps below after replacing or removing DIMMs.

    When installing the card, position the terminal part of the PCI card to the PCI riser card slot and insert it. Important Do not touch the terminal part of riser cards or PCI cards and the signal pins of electric parts installed on the board. Installing boards with dirt or oil can cause malfunction.     If using internal hard disk drives in RAID System with an optional RAID Controller (N8103-149/150/151) installed in the server, the SAS/SATA cable needs to be rewired.     Important Use hard disk drives specified by NEC. Installing a third-party hard disk drive might cause a failure of the server as well as the hard disk drive. Note the following precautions to install hard disk drives.

    The server provides 4 bays. Install hard disk drives in ascending port number order. 3. Remove the dummy trays. Dummy trays are installed in all bays except for bay 0. Note Keep the dummy trays for future use. 4. Unlock the handle of the tray. Express5800/E120d-M User's Guide...

    If you transfer or dispose of the removed hard disk drive, erase the user data completely by referring to Chapter 1 (1. Transfer, Movement, and Disposal) in “Maintenance Guide”. Important NEC assumes no liability for data leakage should the product be transferred to a third party without erasing the data. Note If you need to remove a hard disk drive due to a failure, check the slot with its DISK LED lit in amber.
