Vi61000 UTP HD Video Transmitter Installation Manual
The Vigitron Vi61000 is an advanced active device that transmits HD video
over unshielded twisted pair wires. It is compatiable with HD-TVI, HD-CVI
and AHD video formats. The Vi61000 uses Cat 5/6 UTP cables and can
provide quality HD video up to 2000 feet (610 m) depending on the video
format when it is paired with Vigitron Vi61001 active receiver.
The Vi61000 requires a 12VDC power supply. The Vi61000 is compact in
size and very easy to install. It provides a single slide switch for selecting
the distance range for best performance. Vigitron's Vi61000 is tested and
certified to assure operational specification performance.
The Vi61000 innovative design offers exceptional quality video and system
flexibility that makes it ideal for a wide variety of CCTV applications and
makes a cost-effective alternative to expensive Coax or fiber optic solutions.
Important Safety Warning

- Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
- This installation should be made by a qualified service person and should conform to all local
codes.
- DO NOT bundle UTP or Coax signals in the same conduit as high-voltage wiring.
- To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock, do not expose these products to rain, moisture,
dripping or splashing.
- No objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on Vigitron equipment.
- DO NOT install the unit in a place where the operating ambient temperature exceeds 70°C or
is below - 10°C.
- Make sure that the external power supply output voltage is in the recommended range.
- Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other
apparatus that produce heat.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at power source,
convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
- Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
- Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
- Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus
has been damaged in any way, such as when a power supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid
has been spilled, objects have fallen inside the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed
to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
- The main plug is used as the disconnect device and shall remain readily operable.

The Vi61000 series can provide HD video transmission over UTP at distances up to
2,000 feet depending on the HD video format.
HD Camera-end Installation
The Vi61000 is a HD video transmitter that should be powered by a 12VDC local
power supply.
UTP Port (Terminal Block):
- Connect a twisted-pair wire, 24 AWG or better, to the connector labeled "Video Out".
It is important to note which wire color connects to the "+" and "-" terminals in order
to keep the same polarity on both transmit and receive end of the UTP wire.
Video:
- Connect the camera video output to the "Video In" BNC connector of of the
Vi61000.
Power:
- Connect a 12VDC power supply to the power connector of the Vi61000.
- Connect the GND terminal block with a short 18 AWG wire to Earth Ground.
Set the Distance switch of the Vi61000 to the position that provides the best picture.
HD DVR-end (Vi61001) Installation
The Vi61001 is a HD video receiver that should be powered by a 12VDC local power
supply.
UTP Port (Terminal Block):
- Connect a twisted-pair wire, 24 AWG or better, to the connector labeled "Video In".
It is important to note which wire color connects to the "+" and "-" terminals in order
to keep the same polarity on both transmit and receive end of the UTP wire.
Video:
- Connect the video input of the HD DVR to one of the BNC Video outputs of the
Vi61001. The other output can be used for monitoring or recording on another DVR.
Power:
- Connect a 12VDC power supply to the power connector of the Vi61000.
- Connect the GND terminal block with a short 18 AWG wire to Earth Ground.
