TROUBLE SHOOTING

Problem
An unintended
language appears on
the monitor.
No picture is taken
when the shutter
button is pressed.
The monitor went dark
after shooting.
The camera does not
focus.
The flash does not fire.
The flash does not fully
light the subject.
Images are blurred.
Images are blotchy.
The camera is
unresponsive.

Possible Causes
● The 言語/LANG. setting on the
setup menu is not correct.
① The camera is not turned on.
② The battery is running out.
③ The camera's memory or memory
card is full.
④ The memory card is not formatted.
5 The memory card contact (gold
part) is dirty.
6 The memory card is damaged.
● The fl ash fi res for shooting.
● The subject is not suited for auto
focus. (Page 19)
① You tried to shoot while the fl ash is
being charged.
2 SUPPRESSED FLASH is selected for
FLASH.
③ The battery is running out.
① The subject is not in range of the
fl ash.
② The fl ash window is obstructed.
① The lens is dirty.
② The focus frame is red when you
take a picture.
● A slow shutter speed (e.g. bulb) is
selected at high temperatures.
① Malfunction occurs temporarily.
② The battery is running out.
Solution
● Select your language on the menu.
① Turn the camera on.
② Charge the battery fully.
③ Insert a new memory card or delete images.
④ Use a memory card formatted with this camera.
5 Clean the memory card contact with a dry and
soft cloth.
6 Insert a new memory card.
● The monitor may darken while the fl ash charges.
Wait for the fl ash to charge.
● Use AF/AE lock.
① Press the shutter button after the fl ash has been
charged.
2 Select the fl ash setting other than SUPPRESSED
FLASH. (Page 20)
③ Replace with a fully-charged battery.
① Position the subject in range of the fl ash.
② Hold the camera correctly.
① Clean the lens.
② Make sure the focus frame is green before you
take a picture.
● This is due to the characteristics of a CCD and
does not indicate a malfunction.
① Remove the battery and reinsert it.
If this does not solve the problem, contact a
FUJIFILM authorized distributor.
② Replace with a fully-charged battery.
