Read this user manual carefully before you use the appliance and save it for
future reference.
Danger

Do not immerse the appliance or the mains cord in water or any
other liquid.
Warning

Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the local
mains voltage before you connect the appliance.

If the mains cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by Philips, a
service centre authorised by Philips or similarly qualified persons in
order to avoid a hazard.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience
and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children when the
appliance is switched on or is cooling down.

Keep the mains cord away from hot surfaces.

Do not let the appliance operate unattended.

Only connect the appliance to an earthed wall socket.

Put the appliance on a flat, stable surface with sufficient free space
around it.

Always preheat the reversible grilling plate before you put any food on it.

The accessible surface may become hot when the appliance is
operating (Fig. 2).

Be careful of spattering fat when you grill fatty meat or sausages.

Always turn the temperature control to 0 before you unplug
the appliance.

Always unplug the appliance after use.

Always clean the appliance after use.

Let the appliance cool down completely before you remove the
reversible grilling plate or grilling tray and lid (HD6324 only), to clean
the appliance or put it away.

Never touch the reversible grilling plate or grilling tray (HD6324 only)
with sharp or abrasive items, as this damages the non-stick surface.

This appliance is intended for normal household use only. It is not intended
for use in environments such as staff kitchens of shops, offices, farms or
other work environments. Nor is it intended to be used by clients in hotels,
motels, bed and breakfasts and other residential environments.

This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external
timer or remote-control system.

If the appliance is used improperly or for professional or semi-
professional purposes or if it is not used according to the instructions in
the user manual, the guarantee becomes invalid and Philips refuses any
liability for damage caused.

Electromagnetic field (EMF)

This Philips appliance complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic
fields (EMF). If handled properly and according to the instructions in this user
manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientific evidence available today.
Before first use
Remove packaging materials and stickers.

Clean the appliance (see chapter 'Cleaning').

Using the appliance
Using the reversible grilling plate
Note: Do not use metal, sharp or abrasive kitchen utensils, as they damage the
non-stick coating of the reversible grilling plate.
Put the appliance on a stable, flat worktop.

Put the grease tray in the appliance (1) and put the reversible grilling

plate on (2) the appliance (Fig. 3).
Note: Make sure the flush drainage groove is at the front. The drainage groove
with the rim pointing upwards has to be seated properly on the two plate
fixation points at the back.
Unwind the mains cord.

Put the mains plug in an earthed wall socket.

Choose the temperature setting on which you would like to grill (Fig. 4).

The indication light will switch on.

Note: See the food preparation table for an indication on temperature setting
and grilling time.
Preheat the appliance until the indicator light switches off: the

appliance is ready to be used (Fig. 5).
Put the ingredients on the hot grilling surface.

Turn ingredients from time to time.

Caution: Never cut the ingredients while on the reversible grilling plate.
Do not use metal utensils to turn or retrieve the ingredients from the
reversible grilling plate as this may damage the non-stick surface.
When the ingredients are done to your taste, retrieve the ingredients

from the reversible grilling plate.
Note: Do not move or transport the appliance during use or when it is still hot.
Note: When you want to turn the reversible grilling plate to grill on the other
side, let the plate cool down and clean the plate thoroughly. If the plate is not
cleaned before you start grilling on the other side, grease or food particles may
burn on the heating element (Fig. 6).
Note: When you turn the reversible grilling plate to use the other side, make
sure the flush drainage groove is at the front and the two plate fixation points
are in place (Fig. 7).
Note: The glass lid is not suitable to be used with the reversible grilling plate
(HD6324 only).

Using the grilling tray (hD6324 only)
You can use the grilling tray to grill the ingredients in their own juices.
Note: Do not use metal, sharp or abrasive kitchen utensils, as they damage the
non-stick coating of the grilling tray.
Remove the reversible grilling plate from the grill (Fig. 8).

Put the grilling tray on the grill (Fig. 9).

Note: There is only one correct way of placing the grilling tray on the grill.
The lowest side should be on the back of the appliance (Fig. 10).
Choose the temperature setting you want to use and let the

appliance heat up (Fig. 11).
Note: Do not put the lid on the grilling tray when you preheat the appliance.
The indication light will switch on.

The appliance is ready for use when the indication light goes out.

Note: Do not move or transport the appliance or the grilling tray during use or
when they are still hot.
Note: Do not place the grilling tray on top of the reversible grilling plate as it
will not be stable and will not reach the required temperature.
Note: You can use the lid to prevent spattering.
Be careful, the outside of the appliance may still be hot.
