Introduction Dear Customer Thank you for choosing the Vestel Personal Computer which we hope will give you many years of trouble-free service. The purpose of this User Manual is to give you an introduction on how to operate your new PC and to help you be on friendly terms with the system.

Connecting a USB Device If you have a USB device, such as a USB camera or Scanner, you can connect it to your Vestel computer. Look for the text USB on the back of your computer. a. Select one of the USB ports.
STARTING WINDOWS XP FOR THE FIRST TIME The final step is to set-up Windows XP. The first time you switch your computer on, it needs to configure itself. During the configuration process you will be asked to enter regional settings, your name, company, username, password, and a Product Key.
Knowing your VESTEL PC (THIS ILLUSTRATION MAY CHANGE ACCORDING TO MODEL YOU HAVE CHOSEN) On the front of your Vestel computer you will find a CD-ROM or DVD drive, a floppy disk drive, a number of activity lights (LED’s or Light Emitting Diodes) and a number of buttons. These various parts are described below.
The Keyboard A computer keyboard differs little from a standard typewriter keyboard, with a number of additional special purpose keys. In the paragraphs below, the various keys are discussed. The Mouse The mouse controls the pointer on your screen. You move the pointer on the screen by moving the mouse over your desk in the direction you want the pointer to move. You can use the mouse to move the pointer to a particular location on your screen and to point at something on your screen.
How to use a floppy disk To insert a disk into the diskette drive, follow these simple instructions. Hold the diskette with the label facing up and the arrow pointing toward the drive, then gently push the disk into the drive. To remove a disk, press the floppy disk eject button.
How to use your CD-ROM / DVD drive A Compact Disc has a 12-cm diameter, which can hold information that can be read by a tiny laser beam. It does not only hold digital audio, but all sorts of digital information. With the techniques currently used one Compact Disc can contain up to 788 Megabytes of computer data, or 80 minutes of digital, failure free video with audio! Once it is stored, this information can not be changed any more, that's why a CD containing data is called CD-ROM /...
