Frequency
Routine maintenance is necessary for
all mechanized products, and the snow-
mobile is no exception. A weekly vehi-
cle inspection contributes to the life
span of the snowmobile as well as re-
tains safe and dependable operation. It
is recommended that the steering sys-
tem and suspension be lubricated month-
ly or every 40 hours of operation. If the
vehicle is operated in wet snow or in
severe conditions these items should be
lubricated more frequently.
Penetrating lubricant is recommended
on ball joints and moving parts. May be
used either:

chain lube from Bardahl (BCS 362
dry)

WD-40

Other grease fittings require low tem-
perature grease (P/N 413 7056 00)
using usual grease gun.
The following symbols will be used to
show what type of lubricant should be
used at the suitable locations.

NOTE: When lubricating grease
fittings, grease until grease appears
at joints. Always use low temperature
grease (P/N 413 7056 00).
WARNING: Only perform such
procedures as detailed in this
manual. It is recommended that dealer
assistance be periodically obtained on
other components/systems not cov-
ered in this manual. Unless otherwise
specified, engine should be turned OFF
for all lubrication and maintenance pro-
cedures.
WARNING: Do not lubricate throt-
tle and/or brake cables and hous-
ings.
