CamPlus 2 Plastic Dome IP Camera Installation Manual Product overview The CamPlus 2 Plastic Dome IP Camera (Figure 1) is designed to operate from a PC on a network (10BT/ 100B-TX). Once you configure your PC’s network settings and your LAN, you can use a web browser to monitor both video and audio.

The camera is not meant for outdoor use. • Do not install the camera in direct heat or in areas of high humidity. Install the camera in an environment where the temperature stays between 41 and 95°F (5 and 35°C) and the humidity stays below 90% (when the power is on).

CamPlus 2 Plastic Dome IP Camera Installation Manual Camera installation Before starting the installation, turn off the power of the devices including the camera and the PC or disconnect the power supply. To install the camera, do the following: 1. Detach the dome cover from the main body (Figure 10) and remove the buffer (cushioning). Figure 10.

Rotate the dome cover clockwise, until the Dome Cover indication mark aligns with the Adjust position indication mark (Figure 14). Then, rotate the clear dome from side to side while monitoring images on the video monitor to find a place where images are displayed without vignetting.
Connections To wire the camera, do the following: 1. Connect the provided monitor cable between the monitor-out connector inside the dome cover and the video-in connector of the video monitor (Figure 16). Note: The monitor-out connector is provided only for checking the adjustment of the angular field-of-view on the video monitor when installing or servicing the camera.

To connect the device, do the following: a. Remove 0.12 to 0.28 in. (3 to 7 mm) of the outer jacket of the cable from the external device (AWG #16 to 28 single core, twisted) and twist the core of the power cord to prevent a short circuit (Figure 21).

Connection examples Figure 25 shows an example of a direct PC connection. For this connection, use a LAN cable (CAT5, cross). Figure 25. For this connection use LAN cables (CAT5, straight) and use a switching hub or router that is compliant with 10Base-T/100Base-TX.

Shooting direction adjustment Determine the shooting direction by using the panning table, the tilting table, and the image tilt adjustment ring.

Vertical position adjustment (tilting) Rotate the tilting table to determine the vertical position (available range ± 75°). View angle is variable (the varifocal lens is featured). Images will be displayed upside down when the tilting position is adjusted to the minus direction.

Adjust angular field-of-view and focus while determining the shooting direction. To adjust the angular field-of-view and focus, see Figure 30 and do the following: 1.
SD memory cards Follow these SD memory card guidelines: • To prevent malfunction or damage to card data, turn the camera off before you insert an SD card. • Use the camera to format SD memory cards. If you use an unformatted SD card or an SD card formatted with another device, the camera may not work.
CamPlus 2 Plastic Dome IP Camera Installation Manual Remove the SD card To remove the SD memory card, do the following: 1. Turn the camera off. 2. On the Setup menu Basic setup tab, select Not use for About SD memory card. Refer to the User Manual.
Software installation Before you install the software, read the readme file on the CD-ROM. The software on the CD-ROM, includes the following: Easy IP Setup software. Use this software to configure the camera’s network settings. CamPlus 2 IP Viewer software. Install the CamPlus 2 IP Viewer software to display images on a PC. To install the software, double-click the Setup.exe icon in the Viewer Software folder on the CD-ROM, and then follow the install wizard’s instructions.

CamPlus 2 Plastic Dome IP Camera Installation Manual When you use a DHCP server, you can display the IP address assigned to the camera by clicking the Refresh button of the Easy IP Setup software. 3. Complete each network setup item and click Apply. See Figure 33 on page 26. When you use a DHCP server, it is possible to set DNS to AUTO.
Operation guidelines To ensure your unit operates optimally, follow these guidelines: • Do not aim the camera at strong light sources, such as a spot light, since it causes blooming (light bleeding) or will smear (vertical lines). • When you use a broadband router, use one with port forwarding (NAT, IP masquerade). •...
