    These Modems are designed to work with F270XA exchange side telephone modems or another F271XA in pairs and interface with audio grade signals. These units are housed in VERSITRON FOM II chassis: HF-1, HF-2SS and HF-20A or in a VMX20 Versimux II chassis. Chassis descriptions are found in section 1.2.3 .
  • Page 13 The FPGA is used to transmit the digitized audio signal from the telephone port. In essence, it is an asynchronous-to-synchronous converter encoded using proprietary VHDL programming designed at VERSITRON. A 8.192MHz Oscillator, Y1, provides the clock input to the FPGA. The FPGA also performs configuration operations for the phone CODEC chipset.
