Up HomeDock HD Your HomeDock HD is ready to use right out of the box. However, you will need to remove the thin plastic If you do not have an HDMI-capable television or Home entertainment Center, there are other ways to strip on the back of your remote Control to engage the battery.
HomeDock HD Base. If using the included aV Cable, plug the audio connec- tions into the rCa audio Output jacks on the back of the HomeDock HD Base. Be sure to match the colors of the cable to the color of the corresponding jack (red = right, white = left).
The included remote Control uses rF (radio frequency) so you can control your music from anywhere in the house (within 75ft), without a direct line of sight to the HomeDock HD Base. refer to the diagram To navigate through the menus of the music or video content on your iPod: below for more information about the functions of your remote Control.

Photos + slideshows HomeDock HD Menus To view photos and slideshows from your photo-compatible iPod on your TV using HomeDock HD: select “iPod Mode” by pressing the Mode Button on the top left of the remote Control (see remote Control diagram below).
Cataloging may take up to 45 minutes depending on the size of your library. During the cataloging process, HomeDock HD will be unresponsive to other commands. If you want to listen to music or watch videos, you may cancel the Cataloging process before it finishes.
• BlaCK sCreen Displays a plain, black screen. HomeDock HD has several different screensavers. Choose from the Extras > Screensavers Menu. The fol- lowing screensavers are available: • nOW PlaYInG Displays the currently playing song, album art (when available) and song progress.
Usage Using HomeDock HD with Powered speakers Plug the included aC Power adapter into the back of the HomeDock HD Base, then into any available aC power outlet. Connect an rCa-to-mini audio adapter (available separately) to the left and right Outputs on the back of your HomeDock HD.
HomeDock HD. Of course, to get the most out of your HomeDock HD, you should connect it to an HD TV and home stereo also, it is a good idea to adjust the iPod eQ settings. We recommend setting your iPod eQ to Off and adjusting with an HDMI connection.
